Indirect Apologetics and Art

I am starting to see how important art is. I have prided myself on reason and objectivity. I am starting to see that truth goes beyond concepts of thought. Without art, science and theology is only looking at a portion of reality. Art and beauty can communicate spiritual reality that cannot be pointed at, formulated, or put into words. Art is indirect communication and it is a perfect medium for indirect apologetics.

The Catholic Church has a long tradition of conveying truth through art. We need to take this art out from under the bushel basket while at the same time continuing to create beautiful art for the glory of God.
